This is where we get those gains - in the best possible way! Resistance training is the name of the game in this class as we help you build the strength and power you need to get over walls, flip tires, conquer the Herc Hoist and pick up atlas stones on the race course.
RUN CLUB Mondays 6:15pm Tuesdays 6:15am Locations: rotating (outdoor)
This outdoor cardio-focused class will help you build speed and endurance to hit the ground running on race day. By using a rotating list of locations, you’ll get the opportunity to both build our overall aerobic base and push your limits to run even faster. You’ll get speed work and stadium race training at the Santa Monica College track. You’ll improve your trail climbing ability at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook in Culver City. And you’ll get unpredictability with an amazing view at the Santa Monica Beach, located just over a half mile from RUT Santa Monica. Come to Run Club and you’ll be running this city in no time!
HEAVY CARRY Tuesdays 6:15pm Wednesdays 5:00am, 6:15am Location: RUT Santa Monica
When it comes to obstacle racing, it’s not just about having strength or solid endurance. You also need strength-endurance - the ability to hold on to a weight for a sustained amount of time. That’s what this class is all about. You’ll be prepared for any bucket, sandbag or log you may face on race day. Plus, you’ll develop vice-like grip strength to grab, pick up, carry and hang from anything!
FORM + FUNCTION Thursdays 5:00am, 6:15am Location: RUT Santa Monica
This class is designed to help you move well and stay injury-free. The focus here is on learning the fundamentals of strength training and obstacle technique, from mobility work all the way to proficiency. You’ll learn the movements, the skills and the “why” behind all of it. If you want to become strong and obstacle-proof, you’ll want to make this class a regular part of your training routine.
This is where we put it all together! You get elements of each of our other classes in this race simulation workout. The purpose of this class is to give you the opportunity to push yourself at race pace. Challenge yourself here and the real race day will be a piece of cake!
